As a professional masseuse, I am always after customer satisfaction. That is one thing that I value the most, when it comes to my work, so I make sure that I give a good service with every booking I get. I can give different types of massages. I practice Shiatsu mostly, but I also offer Swedish therapy, reflexology, and an aromatherapy massage, if that is what the customer wants.
Among my specialties, aromatherapy is the most popular service I give out. There is just this distressing factor with the massage oils and the lighted aromatherapy candles that I bring along that relaxes my clients even more. That is why I always stock up on my aromatherapy requirements such as aromatherapy candle, incense and oil varieties. I also play soft music while I work, so the customer is 100 percent happy.
Aromatherapy can do wonders for the soul. Although it has been around for centuries, the use of aromatherapy as a way to relax and relieve various ailments has only been adapted recently by the western world. Using young living essential oils can reduce stress, relieve headaches, prevent insomnia, and promote overall well-being.
Essential oils are extracted from plants and flowers. A few drops of oil mixed with water in an oil diffuser can spread scents throughout a room. Different oils are used for different ailments. Eucalyptus is known to cure headaches. Lavender and chamomile bring about relaxation. Teatree oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties that can heal skin rashes, pimples, and fungal infection.
Mammals smell through what is called the olfactory epithelium. This smell organ is responsible for translating smells so that our brains can process them. How smells work is that each smell is accompanied by a molecule. The molecules have differing sizes and shapes that make different impressions on our smell sensory organs.
When they hit our smell organ, it delivers a specific message that we interpret and send to the brain. The brain then has a sensory reaction to this information that results in the experience of a smell. Aroma essential oils are a great way to explore this organ. Different essential oils will illicit a variety of response; lemon essential oil, for instance, is recommended to help treat colds and oily skin.
Many times it’s not what you put on your face that will ward away wrinkles; it’s what you put in your mouth. Clinical studies show evidence that drinking green tea may be a necessary aspect of anti-aging skin care routines. Skin-care products containing green tea extract are also a worthy addition to a beauty routine.
According to researchers, green tea is filled with antioxidants, which help protect the body from free radicals. Free radicals are naturally occurring particles that accelerate the aging process and the likeliness of disease in the body. Other factors, like pollution, excess sunlight, and smoking also increase the number of free radicals in the body. The antioxidants in green tea are believed to fight excess free radicals in the blood and make you look younger.
You might have noticed that the smell of lavender can induce a calming effect on you. But what you might not have realized is that our body has a biological response to the smell of lavender, and the health benefits can be quite amazing.
Using lavender essential oil can have the following positive effects:
-Stress relief. Lavender has an overall calming effect on our nervous systems, meaning it can help you relax enough to sleep, banish your persistent headaches, or even diminish the effects of anxiety and depression.
-Pain relief: Lavender has also been shown to relieve the pain associated with minor muscle aches or sprains.
-Improved skin: Shown to help heal scars or blemishes, lavender can also slow the appearances of wrinkles and stem acne outbreaks.
-Circulation: Increasing your body’s circulation, lavender (in conjunction with proper diet and medication) can lower blood pressure.
-Immunity: Helping increase your body’s overall immune system, lavender can be an excellent addition to your everyday routine. You might just be surprised to find you’re the only one in the office that isn’t hacking and sneezing.
There are oils that when combined produce certain health benefits. This is because oils create a synergy that restores the body’s balance. Truth is, essential oil blends have soothing, calming properties that benefit your body. They also stimulate the senses and give you healthy-looking skin.
Amazing, isn’t it? Imagine what a combination of wonderful aromatherapy essential oils can do for you and your body today. After a busy day at work, there’s nothing like getting a good therapeutic pampering to renew your body and mind. And what makes a massage most enjoyable is when you have more than one oil to help give you that pleasurable feeling.
Essential oils are composed of tiny molecules which are easily dissolved in alcohol, emulsifiers and fats. This allows them to penetrate the skin easily and work into the body by mixing with the fatty tissue. As these highly volatile essences evaporate they are also inhaled, thus entering the body via the millions of sensitive cells that line the nasal passages. These send messages straight to the brain and affect the emotions by working on the limbic system, which also controls the major functions of the body. Thus in an aromatherapy treatment the essential oils are able to enhance both your physical and psychological well-being at the same time.
Each oil has a distinct chemical composition which determines its fragrance, color, volatility and the ways in which it affects the system, giving each oil its unique set of beneficial properties.
It encompasses us fully – our skin – and often we don’t treat it with much care or respect. It’s rarely recognized for what it is: a vital part of our body function and the largest organ in our body. And in addition to this ignorance, we continue to abuse our skin by neglecting the fact that it’s covered in tiny pores, which absorb whatever we put it in contact with. It’s about time we indulged in a bit of pampering and showed our skin the luxury it deserves.
Proper skin care isn’t as challenging as it may seem. Starting with lotions and creams, anyone can revitalize the complexion and softness of their skin. However, if you’re really looking to reverse the damage not only on its surface, but deep within its layers, you should invest in products like botanical skin care that brings moisture and energy to every inch of your body. Not to mention, you’ll enjoy the soothing scents of the botanical flowers along the way.
First, you’ll want to start off by drawing yourself a nice, warm bubble bath. Allow the tub to fill up about one-quarter of the way and then poor in some bath salts and bubble bath for a hint of fizz with a heap of billowy comfort. When the water reaches the halfway point, climb in and stretch out, propping your feet up on the faucet and rest your head on a hand towel, folded just so that it fits between the nape of your neck and the rim of the tub. Once the water has risen to three-quarters of the way full, add a few bath beads then turn the water off.
Enjoying a luxurious bubble bath is just one of many home spa treatments that women, and men, can treat themselves to without the guilt of spending a fortune. All you need are a few bath products, which can be purchased at a local drug store, to sooth your skin and your senses. It’s never been easier to relax without escaping the chaos of home. For and extra sense of solitude lock the bathroom door and turn on some music.
During the winter season it’s not uncommon to see dry, cracked skin on the elbows, knuckles, and hands. Dry skin is embarrassing, and can be painful if not treated. If you happen to have visible dry skin, be sure to use some kind of body lotion or moisturizer at least once a day; over time this will help the skin to heal. In addition to healing dry skin, there are a number of steps you can take to prevent dry skin. For example, always wear gloves when you go outside in cold weather; wind chill combined with winter cold can cause skin to dry out fast. It’s also important to avoid washing your hands excessively, especially with hot or warm water. If your skin is dry, wash your hands with cold water; this will help to prevent future damage.
By taking these simple precautions you can avoid the hassle and the soreness of dry skin, and have lots of fun in your winter wonderland!
